The Men
Darkness comes to entertain
inside me conjured forward
in the greedy need I am loved
sinister stirrings awaken me to the bleak
A scarecrow perched on my shoulder shrieks
in the eternal torment froth on the seas means terror ahead
turn back inside yourself, torn
I look behind me and shadows encroach
looming large with scary grins
It's the men they've caught up with me
the powers that be scream within my soul
they are at odds with me
I seek shelter in the cool abyss
treading water appearing somewhat normal
They seek my truth
down deep in the black lake
Tending to my misfortune they bid me speak
uttering enchantments I was happy in the day
They bring me back to Midnight's call
tripping in the darkness I fall
heading for a vision
Comatose of thought I walk through the fog
the mists confound me
I scry honesty of value
in my need gone awry
jilted storm of damnation troubles
I cry tears of desire
I run from their grip
the men have captured me
