Winter's Kiss
Raindrops retreat from her unfurling eyes
as all things breathing
now hush and hide
Moonlight pursues her between the scowling trees
while earth shuns warmth to bear
her powdered pale feet
Primordial howls serenade her coming of ice
and the winds are all become stilled
as she passes by
Her frigid caress tames the fiercest flames
thus even the sun withdraws to escape
her melting embrace
Grim skies are lynched beneath a heedful moon
whilst frost and snow are compelled to begin
their inhospitable bloom
White fog and black clouds give birth to colourless mists
even as the soil parts its yielding loins
towards her wintry lips
Life and death entwine and cower
for time is a void emitting no meaning
frozen upon her looming hour
