Grasshopper
My somber mood glows inside
and I wrestle with it to subside
it would not relent with its shine
it hurt me it was so bright
In the shadows I fled
from a feeling so great it bled
I keen with anguish
I turn over my feeling
and stare at it in wonderment
it was unique unto itself
Vibrant pain stood out
I tried to define its need
it spoke in hushed whispers
that appeared foreign
my soul grieved
I could not decipher the meaning
my being aches
I withdraw further from the noise
if follows me into the dark
Finally, I turn to confront this emotion
leading me deeper inward
but it was my own heart speaking
the language of desire
So far removed from me, it causes me sorrow
In the end, I rose to greet this affection
it was after all, love in full bloom
I'd fallen
