Image for the poem Desolate

Desolate

Sorrow devours my innocence
tears escape my eyes going unnoticed by my mind
but my soul is deeply affected
Terror rises with my sighs
rushing to the skies above seeking audience

Kissing the almighty then inquiring why?

The world is afflicted glory
none of us are promised the earth
we are all squatters here

In spite of riches and beliefs
we can all be evicted without notice
many times in days passed
God has purged her of us
Preferring to start over than deal with our ways
wiping technology and previous peoples from the planet
there is evidence to this day of the ancient races
with only a glimpse left into what happened to them

do you yet trespass in his domain?

Staking a claim on what is not yours
shedding blood on this belief
to anger him yet again
