if you prepare for everything
a sense of wonder can’t exist
prepared for the sunset
prepared for the moonrise
prepared for the alternate path
how do you prepare to hear a sonata
to experience shakespeare
to be surprised by spring tulips
prepared for everything
would wonder exist
thrill of the rollercoaster
chill of first snowfall
tenderness of first kiss
if there were
no obstacles no challenges
no losses no grief
no contrast
what a flat existence
that would be
