How To Make A Difference (or why it’s important to participate)

when i was a kid
grandma’s highest praise was
“you’re one in a million”

eight billion
humans now live
on planet earth

imagine
you’re invited
to a gathering

seven thousand
nine hundred and ninety nine
others are invited too

if you stay home
you’re
one in eight billion

(pretty puny)

get up shower
drive or get a ride and
you’re one in eight thousand

(still seems small)

but then you’re also
one in a million
(the apple of grandma’s eye)

just for showing up
