Eternity's Pen
When I draw my final breath
And welcome my friend, who's name is Death
Will my words be set in stone?
Will my poems, on another's lips be sewn?
I wonder what the future has in store
Will my writes then be from the days of yore?
Shall I be a line in the wake of time?
Just another story, in the universe's eternal rhyme
Nay, I shall be seated among the stars
In view of the world, to see the next stanza written
Each drop of ink more valuable than golden bars
To see a future artist grow, as the next poet is bitten
And welcome my friend, who's name is Death
Will my words be set in stone?
Will my poems, on another's lips be sewn?
I wonder what the future has in store
Will my writes then be from the days of yore?
Shall I be a line in the wake of time?
