whimsy

 
untying the feeling
and seeking reality
I understand the need in the moment

vanquish the thought
and seduce the soul into believing what is right
it is with much suffering I come to the conclusion it is a pipe dream
worthy of whimsy nothing more
sadness comes with the realization

nothing is absolute
it is with grief I note my feelings range out of control
a seer of honesty must admit this line of thinking is flawed

to romance an emotion out of its design
stirring the desire until it burns
so much so that I'm consumed by the notion

I must rectify the want
and decide within me what is allowed
furthering in the delusion will only bring more pain
midnight's hurt is callous to my passion
it wants only to feed on my despair

I can not have you

so I must put the thought far from me
where it can not touch my heart anymore
