Word Play Harvest of Imagery Poems
fingers touched the velvety softness
of her dark brown skin
as she reclined on sand
her toes digging into its grains
she rubbed the coconut oil
on her supple body
soaking in the sun
her eyes watching the blue ocean
(17.08.2023)
Touches
fingertips on velvet skin
stoking burning fire within
roars of emotions felt
beneath incarnation of self
Lavender skirt dew dipped
morning sun gentle on face
Whispers of breeze caresses
cheeks once kissed in love
(07.11.2022)
Memories
yet he sings still
within my heart
never not fresh
hear his voice
canned moments in phone
laughter shared
pain felt
until I felt his spirit leave
(31.12.2022)
Smelling Petunia
the garbage truck passed by
yellow paint emblazoned with a name
with cheery letters 'Petunia'
to celebrate the smell of discards
a name by any other name
was just a name, he thought
squinting his eyes against the morning sun
listening to the passing drone of traffic
(24.02.2022)
Vanilla Ice
She was so happy to taste
her first ice cream vanilla ice
it melted in her mouth
and she felt the coldness
she felt a sticky trickle
on her lips and touched it
smearing it with her fingertip
she thought of snow-capped mountains
(21.09.2021)
silky touch of glam
Purple pyjamas
walking barefooted
on cold floor
looking out blue sky
patches of grey clouds
fresh invigorating air
wind of a tropical morn
(21.06.2020)
