Image for the poem in the end

in the end

bated breath and sink into the mire
it is with great regret I admit
I don't think you feel me anymore

my love reaches for you
and I no longer feel you there
it aches with such a dull pain

my soul desires and seeks
with passion I covet your verse
I look and don't see

you've veiled your privacy
your secrets are locked
I panic inside my heart's chambers

you've gone missing
I no longer hold your fascination
still I will never regret
you held my immortality in your grasp

my saving grace breaking the mortal chain
from something ordinary
to a dalliance of the extraordinary

your mischievous smile ever captivating me
your eyes sparked danger
and I am forever swept away
