Image for the poem sorrow

sorrow

sadness speaks quietly
with pangs of melancholy
I don't know where she comes from
deep within my hallowed sanctuary she sings
little songbird of sorrow
calling my name

internal voices distract me from my path
I struggle to breathe with a tight ache
I am unsure why I feel sullen
there is a disconnect between the shadows I dwell in
and the honesty of soul

I pirouette in the dark
then awkward in my presentation
graceful beauty meant for only the eyes of God
