Sunbath for Sea Otters
Sunbathing sea otters
Dream like arctic orphans
On glacial ice floes
Like angels on an ice cube
But in wingless reverie
When daydreams come and go
With the Alaskan tides
Not trapped for fashion
By tourists who take pictures
They nap in nature’s cool embrace
On melting islands
Of sunken mountains
Fleeting as snow
When the sun comes out
But lasting a summer afternoon
Where solar heated mammals sleep
