Yukon Surreal

Yukon Surreal

Meringue snow
Where stunted pine
Awakens in Cimmerian quiet
To misty-eyed earth
Whose fogbound dream
Could be a barren Scottish highland
Where bagpipes echo

But our Yukon land
A burial ground
Marked by totem poles
To remember lost seasons
When eagle and hawk tribes
Found the path of peace
