Snow Poems
#snow
Snow poems, here you'll find poems about the white stuff. Poems about snow, winter and the festive period. Ice crystals, snow flakes and fluffy white snowy landscapes.
Half full, half empty
My car rolls up
On a snow slick driveway.
The curtains are drawn,
And the wind is deadly.
Music blasts from my speakers,
And I turn them up louder.
My hand shifts the car into park,
And flicks the headlights off.
And yet my feet are frozen.
The cold bites through my socks,
And pricks my fingertips.
I pull the key out of the ignition,
And sit as my music plays.
I know the song will end abruptly,
Somewhere in the middle.
I wait.
The song stops.
And now I am...
On a snow slick driveway.
The curtains are drawn,
And the wind is deadly.
Music blasts from my speakers,
And I turn them up louder.
My hand shifts the car into park,
And flicks the headlights off.
And yet my feet are frozen.

And pricks my fingertips.

And sit as my music plays.

Somewhere in the middle.

The Storm
Had a storm roll through just the other day
And it snowed like it would never end
It dropped 180 cm on my neighbours to the north
A mere handful of kilometres from my home
And while I feel bad for those poor bastards
Who are still shovelling their cars out of snowbanks
I'm secretly smiling as I watch the news on tv
Thank God I'm not one of them
And it snowed like it would never end
It dropped 180 cm on my neighbours to the north
A mere handful of kilometres from my home
And while I feel bad for those poor bastards
Who are still shovelling their cars out of snowbanks
I'm secretly smiling as I watch the news on tv

Desires Of The Hearth
Ice-capped twigs
Like frozen stick insects
Lay upon the ice encrusted earth
Amongst browning fallen autumn leaves
Collaged together underfoot
The air lay still
The sun dull, and listless
As each outward breath
Produced ice clouds
Like empty speech bubbles
I summon my dragon Lileth
We fly home
To the warmth of our cave

A Cold, Crisp Winter
It's getting cold outside,
The chills are settling in,
Winter has now arrived,
The sign of frost has begun.
We're stlll in the season of autumn, but
Winter has now shown its face,
The days are nice, but Chilly,
Autumn has now been replaced.
The winter is cold and it's sharp,
Get ready for a frosty chill
Please wear your gloves, coats and scarfs,
For, winter time is here!!

Growth
That winter was such a captivating cold.
Behold the blankness of the world.
The weight of peace
silently thrashes and swirls.
My heart sheds it's stone.
After an eternity of being alone.
Stark white globs of snow.
Form an amazing assault
on flaunting trees below.
A treacherous path faces my determination.
A mix of frenzied fear and energized elation.
What lies ahead is caressed by clouds.
Softer become my raging doubts.
The right path is often the hardest.
A test.
And with grace and growth we are...

Frosty Autumn Leaves
In our minds your memory burns bright
Gone too soon, laid to rest, eternally
The autumn leaves and frost
Decorate your absence
Memories of happiness
Memories of love
Long, winding roads led you home
Led us on different paths
Tangled like branches
Lost in the sound of silence
Your memory lives on in the autumn leaves and frost
Silence
You live on
Gone too soon, laid to rest, eternally
The autumn leaves and frost
Decorate your absence
Memories of happiness
Memories of love
Long, winding roads led you home
Led us on different paths
Tangled like branches
Lost in the sound of silence
Your memory lives on in the autumn leaves and frost
Silence
You live on

The First Snow
When the first snow falls
Everything becomes silent
Mother Nature purifies the land
Crystalizing life with her cold cover

Crystalizing life with her cold cover

Frozen Shores of A Winter Forgotten
Upon the frozen shores of winters yore
Where Time forgetteth how to warm the earth
The winds do wail, as once they did before
Yet bring no thaw, nor touch the soil's dearth
No footstep mars the snow’s unbroken crest
Nor sound disturbs the seas of crystal still
Here winter reigneth, cold and long suppress'd
With naught but silence ‘neath its frosted will
No kindly sun doth rise to wake the morn
Nor springtide's breath to stir the lifeless air
The world, it seemeth, by all hope forlorn
In icy bonds, doth slumber long and bare ...

The winds do wail, as once they did before
Yet bring no thaw, nor touch the soil's dearth
No footstep mars the snow’s unbroken crest

Have you had your break today?
A man by the name of Bruce D. Lipps was the owner of a McDonald's on the outskirts of Duluth, Minnesota.
Sometime in January 1996, he was driving North on Interstate 35 when he crashed his car.
There was a decent snowfall occurring with icy conditions.
His vehicle had crossed the median and into the southbound lanes before hitting a guardrail.
Bruce was able to climb out of the burning wreckage, pulled off all of his burning clothes and stood naked in the middle of the road.
In a matter of minutes, Bruce was run over and killed by an oncoming...

Colder Than The Melt
Softly the winter winds blow
touching the winter snow
colder than the winter melt
a breath's rising into oblivion
then the winter's dialect dies
losing it's speaker

Nature's Withered Shawl
The presence of twilight communicates the security
of moonlight leaning against the fence listening to
the leaves fall landscapes of nature's withered shawl
until they hit the ground turning to scarlet red
as the days grow cold over meadows and pine cones
