Heartbeats Red, Heartbeats White, Heartbeats Blue

Amid the clash of musket fire and roar of cannon's boom
A young man marched to battle, in the midst of smoke and fume
He heard the beating of the drums, and felt his heart take flight
And stood there in his uniform, prepared to face the fight

He raised his musket to his shoulder, took aim and held his breath
As smoke and fire consumed the air, and filled his lungs with death
Yet through that haze of gunpowder, he saw his country's fate
A future bright and glorious, where freedom would pass the gate

The roar of battle all around, the cries of wounded men
Yet he stood firm and resolute, and fought until the end
For in his heart, he knew the cause was just, and he must stand and fight
To win a new tomorrow, where all could walk in light

And though the scars of war may never fade away
His sacrifice and bravery still echo to this day
For he and all his comrades fought with honor, side by side
To secure the blessings of a brighter world, where freedom can abide
