Dreams

She lies on the bed,
Her hands pressed to her aching head,
And tears stream down her face,
He revels in chaos, a cruel embrace,
He entertains the crowd, she takes the blame,
But how can she fight when she's not his main aim?

These dreams have let you down,
But don't let them shatter, in despair drown,
These dreams won't drag you low,
Keep loving, even when his power may show.

All the moments that should have been,
Lost in a haze, like a stage unreal and keen,
There's a void where he should have stood,
No one's more misunderstood than you.

These dreams have let you down,
But don't let them break you, discover a new sound,
These dreams won't bring you low,
Seek solace in your solitude, let it grow.

Do you silently weep, words left unsaid?
Has your past blurred, erased and shed?
Is thinking too hurtful, so you edit to your will?
Replaying altered dreams, a ceaseless thrill.

These dreams have let you down,
But don't let them destroy, find strength to rebound,
These dreams won't drag you low,
Trust in tomorrow where hope will sow.

These dreams have let you down,
But don't let them break you, a chance to be found,
These dreams won't bring you low,
Have faith in yourself, for a new day will glow.
