Broken And Healing
stop looking at your watch
healing takes time
but never on schedule
punctured hearts bleed rainbows
poison leaks slowly
from lacerated souls
laundered by time life hurls fragments
collect the shrapnel
build your armor
shield yourself
as scabs
become scars
remove it
occasionally
let life in
look behind
occasionally
to see your progress
become fluent
in the language of pain
and of letting go
let raindrops
pass freely through your eyes
salt water cleanses
understand
the journey
that molded you
release
losses
celebrate wins
it matters not that you were broken
it matters that you are healed
now scarred and stronger

This stanza was especially, was incredibly hard hitting for me ...It's just one of the many that your sage pen has seared into my psyche.
It feels truly helpful and comforting to have mutual understandings of the world around us. I take that feeling and hold it dear.
