Reflections of Humanity
In the realm of shadows, a mirror stands,
Reflecting truths through shifting sands.
Though your words may wound, judgments cold,
I remain resolute, courageous, and bold.
In your gaze, I discern and recognise,
Echoes of hidden masks and their guise.
The flaws you perceive, faults you find,
Are mere reflections of your own mind.
Those aspects concealed, you strive to hide,
Fears, doubts, whispers, amplified.
They manifest as critical eyes,
Projecting insecurities in a clever disguise.
Within this vast tapestry of existence we share,
Connected in ways beyond words can declare.
The flaws you observe, the shadows you see,
Are echoes of what resides in humanity.
But I refuse to wear your imposed mask,
To make your judgments my arduous task.
I'm learning to embrace my flaws with grace,
To perceive their beauty, their sacred place.
For within imperfections lies the key,
To unlock shackles and set ourselves free.
To accept ourselves, both light and shade,
For only in unity, are our souls are truly made.
Deep within us, intertwined and entwined,
The human tapestry, divinely aligned.
Each thread, a blend of darkness and light,
Unveiling truths hidden from sight.
In this dance of joy and strife we share,
Navigating life's complexities with care.
As we learn and grow, let it be so,
Empathy and understanding may freely flow.
What you see in me today, understand,
May change and shift as life's currents expand.
We're all reflections, forever changing,
In this grand symphony, endlessly rearranging.
Judge not the mirror, but yourself instead,
Embrace the shadows where secrets are spread.
For unity lies in self-discovery,
In recognising our shared humanity.
So as you attempt to define my place,
Seek not to judge, but rather embrace.
For what you perceive, a glimpse so true,
Is but a fraction of me, and of you.
We all bear flaws, battles we must fight,
To reconcile our darkness and our light.
Through understanding, we may find,
Harmony within our own unique design.
Think what you will, your thoughts hold no weight,
For we are one, in this shared fate.
The aspects you see, despise, or decry,
Reflect the inner parts you strive to deny.
For within imperfections lies the key,
To unlock shackles and set us all free.
To accept ourselves, both light and shade,
In unity, our souls are truly made.
So degrade me if you must, but I stand tall,
Unburdened by your critical thrall.
For the parts you think you see in me,
Are naught but reflections of the parts you try to flee.
