Butterflies Landing on Stars
Our universe's contain the same elements.
We possess twin black holes.
I have loved you ten billion light years.
Sharp echoes of when we ran and laughed
in my soul's groves.
What color were his eyes?
They were beyond forever blue.
Eyes of eternity.
Your words wander into me with a sweet recklessness, mouthfuls of stars.
A melody played of the deepest chords,
In every life you would know where my memories were stored.
And release them in my universe,
Like butterflies landing on the stars.

I really like this one. It shows your creativity and understanding in conceptualization of metaphor. There's an exhibition of meaning, and there are layers in most of the lines, as well as condensed meaning and flow. The analogous language you use is original. It could maybe come across as a bit abstract to someone new, but I think the theme makes it more poetic than abstract. It's an experience of love and desire, and a lot of time, that brings out solid feel and understanding, which come from the heart. To be honest, I think this is some of your better work. You create unique visualizations, and they bring your emotion to life. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Your comments make me feel really good about my work. This one I didn't try to sculpt the words so much, just let imagination run free. I always walk away inspired from you.

Yeah, I figured you know you're good at writing. It's just something you "know." When you step away from your work years down the road, you see the progress, and the "knowing" just proves itself more and more.
Sometimes, knowing that we're good on our own isn't enough, though. It's good to get encouragement from each other.

I think writing is my gift. I know I can write, doesn't mean it's always good, lol. I've had enough wonderful feedback to feel like I'm part of the community here. I'll admit, I do like the validation.

Debbie, this was a delightful poem to read just before I go to bed. Your words paint a pure and lasting love that I believe we all yearn for. "My favorite line was In every life you would know where my memories were stored." Nicely written.

Can butterflies land on stars? I know the USA once fired a rocket into an asteroid but that was quite brutal & bit Bruce Willis I'd say, lol. Sorry for being a total bore! Does infinity bother you? It's just that I heard that if infinity exists then that means there's probably someone, somewhere, like you & me doing exactly the same damn thing as us, only... somewhere else! ;-)

Thanks for being so interesting. 😊
I'm not sure I believe in infinity in the mortal sense. I'm totally into past lives, souls finding each other again. Yes butterflies can and do land on stars, in the fields and skies of my mind they do.
I kinda do believe into alternate universes occuring simultaneously with ours.
Anyway you are not a bore, always refreshing to hear from you. You make me laugh. Thx for stopping bye.

Awwww, I know. Everyone loves a harmless bore. I think there's more mileage in your 'alternate universes' theory however. Maybe you could write more about that & expand on it? BTW, we may be on the same plane or is it plain with this write. It's just that I wrote a similar one.
