I lost a cousin to a smoking addiction several months ago.  I've spent the last few months trying to understand addiction.  It's hard as I don't have that kind of addiction but do know obsession, separate and not equal but on the cusp.  I don't know your situation and it's sounds like a brighter path is on your horizon.  Addiction to man made tobacco and drugs is devastating because it's cheap and sucks the life out of you.
As someone who grew up in druggie days I now think the legalization of pot will be harmful in many ways to society as a whole.  Pot was better when illegal.  Giving the arsonist gasoline for their birthday will never turn out well ....

I'm so sorry to hear that. I have three boys and it's been tough.
They are older but they'll always be my babies.

Life will get better. It got really scary as far as being threatened but I've got a family of friends who have been amazing through this new place I'm at. Writing helps too but there's nothing like being hugged by people who genuinely care about you.

I've read this several times.  And I at first tried not to be angry, about how ripped off you've been.  About how every day spent leading with patience and a false hope only leaves you silently bitter.  And knowing if you lash out then you become just part of their excuses.  Because everything is to blame except themselves.  

Bravo to you.  You are too smart, (patient, but hit your limit), too beautiful, too kind, too well structured in your own life, to carry that kind of burden any longer.  

You deserve a good world around you, by now!  It's time.  

Oh, and your write is incredible.  The fact that you poured this out while dealing with work too, shows your skill and also your fortitude.

I did write this as a song. I love to add a little melody in my poetry. For me it rolls off my brain that way when writing for some reason.

I think it all started with that ABC song in kindergarten. LOL

I was at work and this just came to me. I was going to title this saltwater diamonds but changed it to flowers because I wanted the piece to evolve into something else. And how when you go into the ocean with a cut it burns  because of the salt. I had a vision of blood seeping into the water as I was walking on it.  And the blood footprints bloomed saltwater flowers. It's a long walk I'm going through so I envisioned all of these flowers growing on top of the ocean. Leaving them behind as memories. I'm blabbering but that's how this piece came into my mind. Making bad memories and turning it into something beautiful.

Hello. I owe my entire musical life to my grandfather, I never knew my father. I started playing the C trumpet at the age of ten, progressing to the B trumpet, drums, double bass, harmonica. The guitar came with puberty at the age of 14. Last year, the last member of our band died, so I decided to let it go and officially quit playing. All I have left is my love for writing and that's how I create texts. Sometimes I play somewhere, but it's very rare.

My son's first instrument was the trumpet in Middle School. He was first chair for a while. There was a healthy competition between himself and another friend of his. They alternated frequently! LOL
He started the guitar in high school and the rest is history.
