Addiction

At a time in the not too distant future
A tale unfolds, of a love quite peculiar
A dark-haired girl, bright and fair as the day
Fell in love with her smartphone, a new bond made

Her eyes like glowing sapphires, a gaze so sweet
Yet fixated on her phone, she'd laugh and weep
A connection so strong, so immense
Her love for the device grew more intense

In cafes and parks, they'd sit together
Her phone and her, like birds of a feather
She'd wrap it in cases, adorned with care
So engrossed was she, onlookers would stare

Her friends grew distant, her family concerned
Still the lady and her phone, all else they spurned
For true love knows no bounds, no lines
Even when it's only a screen that shines

So remember, dear reader, in this digital age
Unorthodox love can take center stage
A beautiful woman, her heart ablaze
In the arms of her smartphone, ‘til the end of days
