he walked with confidence
on thorns of red roses
bled from wounds
inflicted on soft skin
his smile a grimace
tears flowed a sadness
broken dam of his eyes
his thoughts were emptiness
he lived on prayers
on night whispers
hopes usually unanswered
wishes unfulfilled
he walked

with thorns
stuck in his sole
