Half-hidden truths. Read a novel from a Québec woman author once. The young woman left the dirt-poor home and starving family in the country to make something of herself in the big city. She writes home (sending a few $$ on occasion) saying how all is nice etc. The truth is that she has to sell her body to make ends meet.............
