I miss you
but I can't stop me
from keeping me away from you
maybe it's overthinking
thinking you're better off
not having to hear another sob story
I'm depressed most days
so I just say it's ok
a hug helps
but I'm sure you would rather live
not hearing what I haven't accomplished
you are so beautiful
much too beautiful for my ugly soul
so when you drift off
I hate it, but completely understand
I'm just a let down
a dud at the party
everything is a disappointment to me
wish I could see things differently
maybe then you would want to stick around
and we would have a great relationship
but I have to fight this battle on the daily
wish you could see to understand
then again
maybe it's best you keep your innocence
even if it kills me
watching from afar

Your poem makes me think how much we all tend to hide behind our walls of insecurity when we all have so many thoughts that are similar. Palpable and even so relatable. Your willingness to put it out there is the beauty of your write. H🌷
