Pretty certain i heard You scream
woke up to pee it’s how I knew
could not be a dream

neither understood  a thing
nor interpreted unseen
Guessing is kind of blurred
Were You laughing or crying
as caterwauls
often feel that way
heard through tiny auricles
through swollen canals
ending into an abyss
of aging grey matter
and tumoritropic swill
onset to vascular dementia
 too taught and tight
for sleepy conscious
listening to comprehend

Your belief that I never
felt anything
leads me to believe
that perhaps
an empath doesn’t
