Laughter Of A Clown

I am as common as the dirt
That is swept off the floor
Sometimes too silent
Thought of as a bore

Six feet I stand
Not towering over all
Though fortunately not so clumsy
To be taking a fall

Never been told that I am
Hard on the eyes
On the other hand not claiming
That I have bedroom eyes

Once much younger a marathon
I did like a masochist run
But as for running that long
I am forever done

Without a doubt something is missing
From days gone by
A full head of hair
Transplants I will not try

Pulling open a container
That requires nails long
Don't look here
Fear of playing the guitar wrong

Maybe my best asset
Is being able to poke fun at me
Can readily laugh
At what in the mirror I see!
