Celestial Love: A Sonnet for My Dearest
When first I saw thee, love, my heart did leap
And all around me faded into naught
Thou wert the sun, my soul did surely keep
And I was but a moth that to thee sought
Thy beauty, love, doth grace the fields of yore
And in thy presence doth the angels sing
Thy voice, my love, doth stir my very core
And in thy gaze, my heart takes flight and wing
Oh, love, thou art the answer to my prayers
The light that guides me through the darkest hour
Thy touch, my love, doth banish all my cares
And in thy arms, I find my sweetest bower
So let us pledge our hearts, our souls, our all
And in each other's love, forever fall.
