Immediate thought upon looking at your painting - “engorged heart”
Then I read your poem.
Now I’m speechless (in a good way).

Kinda psycho and probably wrong but once a year I do a horror entry.  Guess this is it for 2023 !

It's a fucked up write but it's not personal to me.  It's more something I would never write but it came to me so I took a chance in posting it .... ya know ?

This reminded me of a part in one of Augustin Burroughs' books, can't remember which one though-- might be "Running With Scissors".  Anyway, he recounts an incident with an asshole boss & one of his female co-workers reached up under her skirt, pulled out her bloody tampon & flung it right onto the boss' shirt.  Lol-- priceless & if I still had my girl parts & periods , I would be doing the same to a few choice people 😁

Kind of a one off write for me.  I usually don't write stuff like this but it was one of those poems that came to me in a flash and I went for it.

I looked at the painting without reading the words, I thought it was a cataclysm piece by the artwork and title.  After reading your words I agree it doesn't seem PoetSpeak-y but the passion of your art and poetry still remains.

I couldn’t help but see a huge amount of vulnerability here. The image of the tampon almost felt like war paint, and I guess the beauty of this little piece is that we aren’t privy to either side of the battle lines. I like that it leaves us hanging. Lingers like a bruise.

Yes, you isolated some of my thoughts on this write.  A lot is left in the balance.
