LIFE'S TIDE
Life's tide does rise and fall
As time flows slowly by
Sighing a dead man's call
Or singing a gentle lullaby.
And upon hearts dust does fall
Hiding one's true emotions
Stifling a lover's call
Burying one's true devotion.
Two lovers may fall apart
never knowing why they care
For time has torn their heart
Thus leaving nothing there.
Life's tide goes drifting on
It simply passes away
For love seems all but gone
As it reaches for a new day.
