In a cows eye
In silence
Another day comes to an end
The darkness lies thick
Beyond the mountains, someone burned down a forest
Through its arms,
Raging black smoke
The trees can no longer dance
Nature is the common enemy
Fall asleep
Let darkness cradle you
Feel her evening gown
And bury your face
Nature is the common mother
Catch your reflection
In a cows eye
Dream of sweet milk, power or falling,
Constantly
And before you arise
When the sun sets you a stage
And the first dog
Pees on the street below
Lay awake, under lids of crust
Shed your midnight skin
And begin the next act
Naked and vulnerable
Nature is the ongoing rotting
Another day comes to an end
The darkness lies thick
Beyond the mountains, someone burned down a forest
Through its arms,
Raging black smoke
The trees can no longer dance
Nature is the common enemy
Fall asleep
Let darkness cradle you
Feel her evening gown
And bury your face
Nature is the common mother
Catch your reflection
In a cows eye
Dream of sweet milk, power or falling,
Constantly
And before you arise
When the sun sets you a stage
And the first dog
Pees on the street below
Lay awake, under lids of crust
Shed your midnight skin
And begin the next act
Naked and vulnerable
Nature is the ongoing rotting
