Thorns of Remembrance
A Velvet Rose, once fair to see
Its beauty held, for all to be
A symbol of love, a perfect bloom
Its petals soft, a sweet perfume
But just like all things in life, it died
Its beauty faded, no longer tied
The man who loved it, shattered inside
His heart aching, as if it would divide
But still the thorns, so sharp and strong
Remain untouched, a painful song
For every prick, a drop of blood
A reminder of love that was once good
And yet the pain, it still burns bright
A wound that cuts, a painful sight
For every tear, a reminder of love
A velvet rose, sent from above
Although the rose may wilt and fade
Its thorns remain, a jagged blade
Of love so pure, but lost in time
And wounds so deep, yet still they bind
Its beauty held, for all to be
A symbol of love, a perfect bloom
Its petals soft, a sweet perfume
But just like all things in life, it died
Its beauty faded, no longer tied
The man who loved it, shattered inside
His heart aching, as if it would divide
But still the thorns, so sharp and strong
Remain untouched, a painful song
For every prick, a drop of blood
A reminder of love that was once good
And yet the pain, it still burns bright
A wound that cuts, a painful sight
For every tear, a reminder of love
A velvet rose, sent from above
Although the rose may wilt and fade
Its thorns remain, a jagged blade
Of love so pure, but lost in time
And wounds so deep, yet still they bind
