Why Write

Well this be just my opinion
So not too much can be said
But a friend asked about DU
And the poems that were read

I may impart some wisdom
To others who like to write
The reason for your craft
So not just be about the tide

For what is read often isn't always
The best quality on that you can rely
Most popular isn't automatically the best
How often do we hear that cry

Yes it would be great to have readers
Who will read anything you put down
But you should also write when it's burning
Your own voice being the only sound

When something comes up to the surface
That you must get off your chest
Haunts you like a ghost
So bad it's a constant pest...
