A Confession

Loved this so much. I've felt the same way.

Three years ago, I had maybe a dozen poems to my name - mainly all published, but no great interest or ability. Then someone challenged me to join in Escapril. I now have 200, but still don't think I have any ability and expect each one to be my last. I'd be semi-OK with it too... I'm a musician and composer really, and enjoy making all sorts of things, so creatively I'd survive!

It's permanent for me. I don't think I'll ever stop, because I'm determined and bloody-minded. But if I couldn't write any more, I'd just do something else instead.

I'd be OK, as well. I'd compose, make the Christmas cards (I always do), and find other ways to express myself. I'm enjoying it while I can though.

I am so very glad you took the leap and put words to page because I am all the richer having read you. Keep writing my friend because you are indeed a writer.

I'm not really a poet either but I write stuff.
It's in a poem format.
I think of it more as narrative writing.
I like to write and people seem to like it so I don't fight it.

I have kids, I work, I do several major fundraisers each year. Creatively, I write, compose, master new instruments, make all my own cards, make bottle lamps, tie dye and decorate clothing. I'm studying Italian and Orchestration seriously, and spend the rest of my time on reading and word games.

I do stuff too
But it doesn't mean you have to stop anything.
I write if it hits me.
I never look for it.

Same, although I almost have enough for another book. We'll see.

To me, this almost sounds like a New Year's resolution, god knows why but anyway, I now prefer the build up to it & all the hope a new year can bring. No, I haven't been drinking but it won't be long, lol! I even jot down one line sentences when ideas pop into my head. When I get enough of them, I may compile it into a poem called, 'Billy Snagg's Snaglets'. Like it?

Oh yes, we need the Snaglets. Maybe a chapter or book of them, in the style of  Proverbs. The Gospel According to Billy? I know where that belongs... in my Bonkers competition, that's where.

I'm not making any New Year's Resolutions! The one thing I REALLY need to do is sort out my health and fitness, which has taken a right battering. I haven't exercised for a month and have a 2.5k Swimathon in May. Aargh!

I think you will always have material to offer because of your varied lifestyle. In some ways you are quite lucky that way, in that writing opportunities are more likely. 😊
