No, new beginning
There is an enormous hole on the surface of Mars
the biggest hole in the solar system, so gigantic
One can put mount Everest into the hole and
there would be a place for many more mountains.
At the bottom, there is oxygen enough, to sustain
plants, a lake, palm trees, yes, even fruit trees
and animal life-like friendly, glowing serpents.
For millions of years, this Martian paradise had
existed till a long, lost airship, slowly descended
Most of the spaceship’s crew had perished but
for a couple, the ship landed with a bang so
loud, fish flew out of the lake and palm trees
Shook and lost leaves and paper tigers aborted.
A new Adam& Eve story? not quite
The female astronaut, a man who had transited
to a woman who preferred to use the pronoun them
the male astronaut was a man who thought he
was born into the wrong body, and with this, a new
beginning wore a skirt of a banana skin.
In the end, two old men, who kept a creature
looking like a dog and askew by other animals
because of their clinging nature as a company;
without a God there was no miracle, therefore
no new beginning.

Not sure how to take this. It comes across as innocent fun. But the references to trans people and the fact that you chose to make both astronauts a post op trans gender person and the other to be pre op I felt was overkill.
For one person to be post op would render reproduction impossible so why have both?
Then comes God, there is God on Mars as he does not restrict his jurisdiction to earth alone. I therefore took this to be tat the astronauts were Godless?

We all have God. Somewhere. Even when we don't yet know we have God, we still have God, as God watches out and cares for all.
And if it were the future enough for that spaceship, one can hold sincere belief that by providence's grace it will also be future enough for reproductive science to facilitate creations task.
The last transition took place 2000 years ago.
We, Humanity, All of Us, are living In the next Transition, which is Now. Those of us who understand the future are entering it united, embracing it and each other Lovingly. We have been doing so since the dawn of the 20th century. Human rights as an ethos followed. The end of the Institution of slavery. Women's Suffrage. The end of the colonial system. Women's Lib. Gay Power. The crossing out of divisions caused by man's gender. History contains no coincidence. Only logically self organizing progressions.
So many men have a deep and abiding love for fighting, and look easily past violence. Many humans carry a deep bloodlust in their hearts, in place of sorrow. But really, Peace to every one. Trans people are not their enemies. Nor are we yours. And neither is tomorrow's future your enemy either.
Carry on, friend. Enjoy the front row seat at the war in your heart.
