Beautiful Nonsense

missing the school bus
hitching a ride
had no idea what I wanted to do with my life
growing into a punk teen
being kicked out of the clubs
getting in fights with the lonesome drunks
while licking my wounds
a young lady looks deep in my eyes
for the first time, but certainly not the last
broken heart, yet it was always worth it

and through it all
the rises and falls
I found only now
those were the moments
a fit of beautiful nonsense

grew up in a trailer
moved out into a home
worked every dead end job one could know
talked daily with a woman
who gave me what I was missing and more
helped me figure out my self doubt
encouraged me to chase after my dreams
while running I realised
I already had all I could ever need

and through it all
the rises and falls
I found only now
those were the moments
a fit of beautiful nonsense

sitting in my favorite chair
watching the game
my wife tells me get ready
we have no time to waste
always such a wise one
she never steared me wrong
ready and willing for some more
beautiful nonsense
