Melancholy's tears

 
powerful feelings wash over me
I hate to accept it or admit it but something is bothering me
I can't pinpoint the source

melancholy with a taste of discontent has befallen me
I try to rise above it and touch the day
but today I am unable

I feel out of flow and out of touch
I feel like I'm not reaching you
and this hurts a lot

I don't like the changing of the seasons
people come and go in your life it's the way of it
I grieve their absence
I languish in sorrow,
when I realize there is no more we can learn from each other

it does no good to hang on when it's over
holding too tightly causes bitterness

does no one stay anymore?

when it's time for goodbye
my soul secrets a piece of you away
so I will always feel you in the world

remembering you with love in my soul
though I've let you go
