The Tree's Knees
The trees are not strangers
they weather the storms
watching over the majesty
in shadows of the inglenook
and are the fingers of God
home to the little church mouse
sleeping under the mushroom caps
wearing winter earflaps
and little snowshoes
keeping hymnals and prayer books
that sit on the tree's knees
counting the rosary beads
they weather the storms
watching over the majesty
in shadows of the inglenook
and are the fingers of God
home to the little church mouse
sleeping under the mushroom caps
wearing winter earflaps
and little snowshoes
keeping hymnals and prayer books
that sit on the tree's knees
counting the rosary beads
