Image for the poem look away, my love

look away, my love

my flaws speak volumes
of heartbreak and greed
a greed so great it can never be fed

I ache in the lonely moments
when in stillness's court I see you face
as I walk the road to perdition

leaving you alone in the dark
I see you, eyes dejected and cast down
it cuts me to the core

addicted blues I can't...

help feeling you deserve better
but who are you if not the man I'm always letting down
in my cold days I walk a mile just to avoid the pain

reaping great sorrow I pay today
I will pay again tomorrow knowing I hurt you
