MIRROR/RORRIM
I gaze into the mirror, as if, it were in a dream,
My image peering back is not as it may seem.
Could it be the real me on the reflection side,
Or, the actor of my dreams, the one I try to hide?
If I am an actor, in a play of a strange reality,
Perhaps, my reflection is the one I wish to be.
My alter ego, who explores my imagination,
One that takes me at night, to a destination.
It takes me on a journey into my inner soul,
By train, plane, or starship, I have no control.
Meeting those I may never see, or ones I hold dear,
Situations may develop, but no boundaries are in here.
Floating, drifting or falling I have done them all,
Strangers or familiar people, I can hear them call.
Kissing, dancing or acting out my deepest desires,
Letting my emotions soar to a place even higher.
I look into my image and see a person not like me,
Another who lives inside, but who has been set free.
I envy how this image can cross the realms of time,
Exploring all my passions to the tallest cliffs I climb.
My true self my image sees, the one that has my sin,
Having constraints in my life of flesh, bone and skin.
Not possessed perfect beauty, nor with perfect charms,
It wrestles with negativity, but protecting me from harm.
The person who must fight and struggle with defeat,
Made of integrity, never to manipulate, steal, or cheat.
Having built in insecurities and a desire to give the best,
Created to be a dear friend, but not a fool to test.
Yes, I gaze into the mirror and know it's not a dream,
A deeper vision of myself, who's looking back at me.
I struggle with my failings, that make me so unique,
An alter ego appears to give me strength when I am weak.
