the heavenly place
known by all,
or is

Strips of sodden flesh
fall to the ground
as blood flows freely
from the wounds

Sealed with salt,
seared, cauterized,
realized
that the pain
is that
of the healing flesh

Feeling as if
entering the portal
was a mistake.
If I had only chosen
differently

then my manhood
would be intact
and these screams
of painful ecstasy
would go unheard

If this
were only but a nightmare,
