Circe's Gold Cage
Your love language is Circe's island
Food, wine, luxury as far as the eye can see
Warmth and comfort offered so freely
Blind acceptance of anything I could say
You give me anything I could ever want
But it is as hollow as a wooden bell
People's assumption is I'm in control
But we know differently, don't we?
There will be a moment when I turn on you
That's when the luxury turns to golden bars
We are always assuring ourselves
We would never hurt each other
But Circe told Odysseus she meant no harm
You offer love and everything worldly
But we both know deep inside the truth
It's only as long as I play my role beautifully
Food, wine, luxury as far as the eye can see
Warmth and comfort offered so freely
Blind acceptance of anything I could say
You give me anything I could ever want
But it is as hollow as a wooden bell
People's assumption is I'm in control
But we know differently, don't we?
There will be a moment when I turn on you
That's when the luxury turns to golden bars
We are always assuring ourselves
We would never hurt each other
But Circe told Odysseus she meant no harm
You offer love and everything worldly
But we both know deep inside the truth
It's only as long as I play my role beautifully
