Pause and Be Attentive
I am suffering from an affliction
Wanting to he heard
To Pray and lift my voice to You
not harking to Your word
My mind it moves so swiftly
from thought to thought it goes
even when I worship You
It would be better if I slowed
To focus my attention
on Your voice instead of mine
Slowing down for some reflection
So my heart with you align
Lifes busyness carries over
Is this more effective?
Checking prayers off of my list
is awry and ineffective
The grace behind this privilege
is to converse with our Creator
It is not to listen to myself
but hear from He who's greater

How extremely insightful and relatable this poem is. I find myself in a similar situation. My head is so busy thinking of the next ten things to be accomplished I diminish my conversation with He who can guide me best. I really appreciated your thoughtful approach throughout this write. So many prayers and I give them so little time to be earnest and honest that it is like going through the motions. Yet, I am convicted of this. I do not know why it brings comfort when someone can relate? I am not happy that you struggle with this also but, I so appreciate you stopping by and reading and leaving your encouragement.
