Mirror
Is this me, I see?
It moves when I move,
So it must be,
I don't understand, but don't necessarily disapprove,
Truths laid bare before me,
Clouding what I thought I did see.
I am but a cracked mirror,
Splintering in different directions,
Seeing who I am, with delight, and horror,
Clearly, and with internal miscommunications.
I know what I do and don't want, and yet I don't,
I know what I do and don't need, and yet I don't,
My perceptions of myself
Have both been confirmed, and shattered,
I am both strong, and as fragile as delph,
I am both mentally free, and to ideas, fettered.
I know not who I am,
And yet, I know exactly who I am.
It moves when I move,
So it must be,
I don't understand, but don't necessarily disapprove,
Truths laid bare before me,
Clouding what I thought I did see.
I am but a cracked mirror,
Splintering in different directions,
Seeing who I am, with delight, and horror,
Clearly, and with internal miscommunications.
I know what I do and don't want, and yet I don't,
I know what I do and don't need, and yet I don't,
My perceptions of myself
Have both been confirmed, and shattered,
I am both strong, and as fragile as delph,
I am both mentally free, and to ideas, fettered.
I know not who I am,
And yet, I know exactly who I am.
