How To Juggle

I’m not pulling your leg, don’t juggle with eggs!
The yolk was on me when I tried such a feat,
I gave it my best shot, but those eggs had me beat.

But juggling is fun and a cool thing to do,  
It’s good for your fitness, and improves your brain too.

I’m sure someone like you could quite easily do it -  
It’s just throwing and catching, that’s all there is to it.  

You can juggle with clubs, or you can juggle with rings,
You can juggle with practically all manner of things.  

You can juggle with words if you’re writing a play,  
Or juggle the tasks you must do in a day.  

Juggling one ball is simple, not a hard thing to do,  
I picked it up quickly, you might learn swiftly too.    

Step one is as follows: throw a ball side to side,
Not too fast or too slow, or too narrow or wide.
Each time that you throw it, then you catch it, like so.

Keep on practising that, till your skill is sky high,  
And then you’ll be ready to give two balls a try.  

Now to juggle two balls is slightly harder, it’s true,
But if you practise enough then success will ensue.  

Start with one in each hand, and throw to and fro,
As high as your eyes, not too high or too low.      

Throw each of the balls, then catch both and repeat.
  
But what if you drop one?  Do not stop, stay upbeat,
Relax and don’t worry, it does not mean defeat.  

When you are ready, pick it up from the floor,
Every ball you pick up means you exercise more.  

Want to juggle with three? Is that your ambition?  
With a little more work it’ll come to fruition.  

And the secret, you see, is it’s all in the throw,
So now that you know, you are ready to go.

Throw, throw, and throw – three balls in a row, to begin,  
Then catch, catch, and catch to get into the swing.  

Forget about talent, that is not what it takes.  
If you want to improve, keep on making mistakes.    

Keep making mistakes, till you throw more precisely,
Persist with those failures, till you catch very nicely.

Mistakes help you learn, so just let those balls drop!
Make mistakes and don’t stop, and you’ll get to the top!
 
Do you want to do more? Would you like to try four?  
Then all it will take is some further rehearsal.  
Throw the balls up and down and around in a circle.  

Keep throwing those balls at a comfortable pace.  
Stay loose and breathe easy, and give yourself space.  

Take a little time out, then continue those throws.  
Keep it simple and fun, and just see how it goes.

Every day you’ll get better, you’ll develop more flair,
Until one day all four balls will remain in the air.
And then you’ll be ready to try five if you dare!
