POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write poems with rhyme and rhythm to make the world a better place, plus some romantic and satirical verse.
Be Kind and Inspire
Let’s say you are seeking a cause to inspire you,
And want something very worthwhile to aspire to -
That’s precisely the time that being kind can come in.
When problems are pressing and the chances are slim,
You’ll make an impression, you just have to begin.
Or say you’re in want of a mission or purpose,
Be kind and you’ll find it, try being of some service.
Helping someone with something’s a cool thing to do,
And the world could be changed by a person like you.
You can start anytime. It’s okay to be nervous!

How To Juggle
I’m not pulling your leg, don’t juggle with eggs!
The yolk was on me when I tried such a feat,
I gave it my best shot, but those eggs had me beat.
But juggling is fun and a cool thing to do,
It’s good for your fitness, and improves your brain too.
I’m sure someone like you could quite easily do it -
It’s just throwing and catching, that’s all there is to it.
You can juggle with clubs, or you can juggle with rings,
You can juggle with practically all manner of things.
You can juggle with words if you’re writing...

An Unrequited Love
Do you ever have times when you think you can’t win,
Or you’re getting no gain from the pain you are in?
Are you troubled by thoughts that you’re losing your groove,
Do you have a conviction that things won’t improve?
Well that’s how I felt in my first year at uni,
I’d never felt nearly so cheerless or gloomy.
I had only one problem, but one is enough,
To make your existence become pretty rough.
The problem was love, or to be more exact,
It was one that arose due to love that I lacked.
I had fallen in love,...

Johnny McSneed and the Super Good Deed
Let’s start at the start, a great place to commence,
If you’re at the beginning, that’s plain common sense.”
Said Johnny McSneed to his neighbour Michelle.
“I was riding to school, and juggling as well,
About three or four balls, with my usual skill,
But when pedalling uphill I had a slight spill.
I hit the ground hard, badly skinning my knee.
I got to my feet, and tried to walk, gingerly.
Things weren’t going so good, then my tale had a twist.
A motorist noticed, and she stopped to assist.

Wherever you go, there’s one thing that’s like granite,
A thing that’s unchanging all over the planet,
A rock at the bottom of all things that exist,
An ultra-cool rule guaranteed to assist.
It’s been there all the time, sitting under our noses,
For everyone, everywhere, to easily see.
And there’s no doubt about a command that composes,
The base of a faith with which all might agree.
There is no better standard than love others as you,
No grander commandment than do as you’d be done to.
And if you’re going through stuff...

A Marriage Proposal
I am not one to kiss and tell,
But well, my love, just let me say,
I think you’re swell in every way.
No sooner had our texts began,
I knew I’d like to be your man.
You are the miss I want to kiss,
The times I spend with you are bliss.
Who knew that love could be like this?
I dream of you by night and day,
Your beauty blows me right away.
I want no love in lieu of you,
I’ll never say adieu to you,
Just one will do if it is you,
I will eschew them all but you,
I will not woo a love...

A Creed of Good Deeds
Have you sought a foundation on which you can stand,
Or yearned for firm ground but then found only sand?
Do you seek deeper meaning, or wish for a why,
Or just want to know where we go when we die?
Do you get the impression there is something not right?
Does your mind start to wander when you’ve switched off the light?
Are there questions you ponder in your bed late at night?
Especially at times when you feel like a flop,
Or something is hurting you greatly non-stop?
Well relax, and don’t worry, whatever you do,...

Poisoned Water, Poisoned Land
Poison water, toxic potions,
Pumped in rivers, lakes and oceans,
By good-for-nothing mining scum,
Who spoil the world for everyone.
Cutting corners, risking lives,
Ditching morals, telling lies,
Killing things for miles around,
Through poison spills left in the ground.
Mistreating earth for fleeting gain,
Destroying lives and causing pain,
Mining things that we don't need,
Their motive being to feed their greed.
History shows they can't be trusted,
It's time their industry was busted.

Blessed
Lift our neighbour’s load and ours will be lighter,
For sharing’s what we’re made to do.
Wash our neighbour’s feet and we become whiter,
Strangers are our neighbours too.
Blessed are those who live a life of kindness,
Who stop another’s hurt from from aching.
A kindly word or caring deed is timeless,
And may prevent a heart from breaking.
Blessed are those who help as much as possible,
With all their heart and soul and mind and strength,
Blessed are those who make their efforts optimal,
For others going greater lengths.

Friendship, Love and Liberty
These words result from brain not heart
But words from hearts aren't always best
Or wise, and I do have a heart
And these words are my sincerest.
I'm aware it may appear bad
That I've written these words when you've
Just told me the troubles you've had
And when your parting's not been proved.
But I've cared since our second year.
Please see, there's been a dilemma
And I've done this because I fear,
If not now, then perhaps never.
Whom we don't love should we be with?
If we don't know how can we love?
How can we know...
But words from hearts aren't always best

How To Save Lives Every Day
If you're wondering whatever it is you should do,
Then wonder no more, there’s a purpose for you.
‘Cause the answer to questions of what it all means,
Is far from as hard as it frequently seems,
It’s loving your neighbour as if they were you,
And treating all people as you'd be done to.
You don't have to engage in some deep sort of thought,
In sum and in short, simply do what you ought.
The things that you should - it's that simple you see,
That's all there is to it, but don't take it from me,
You can tell for...

A Cancer On Society
Hate all boozing with a passion,
Just don't care if it’s in fashion,
No matter what the others think,
Don’t respect the choice to drink.
Booze is a drug that only leads,
To cruel and cowardly crimes and deeds,
A rotten lie, one big mistake,
A sham, a scam, so false and fake.
A cancer on societies,
Which causes all varieties,
Of deaths and pain to those who choose,
To never drink a drop of booze.
Just don't care if it’s in fashion,
No matter what the others think,
Don’t respect the choice to drink.
Booze is a drug that only leads,
To cruel and cowardly crimes and deeds,
A rotten lie, one big mistake,
A sham, a scam, so false and fake.
A cancer on societies,
Which causes all varieties,
Of deaths and pain to those who choose,
To never drink a drop of booze.
