Movements

I sit in this cafe
Count the little droplets
That cascading rain in October
My drink without a care

I wonder where you are
Did heaven settle all your affairs
Or is it a myth like I thought
Someone’s solitude

I have no answer
Only laugh at the mystery
Cause life keeps taking things away
I’m getting older it seems

It’s all I see
Hate turning weak
But I like the burn of living

Damn the unknown
Can’t ever look back again
Yet questions loom right above me

Badlands settle
And roads run concrete
That school falling into disrepair
Dried up with the town

Fences not mended
These fields are firestorms
The wind comes in like a memory
Leading me back to you

Been awhile yeah
The graves only get bigger
Guess I’ve been afraid
Where do I begin

It’s all I see
Hate turning weak
But I like the burn of living

Damn the unknown
Can’t ever look back again
Yet questions loom right above me

I sit in the dark
Tapping and bending
Little haunts that I remember
It’s grandma to now

Miss you both, I swear it
