Awashed

the sun could never dry
i
awashed with a striking semblance
seeking solace amid a summer breeze

a tease she is
encumbered
echoes embarking her distance
never giving way

her oceans hold my silence
where secrets once flowed
but mercilessly
now drift away

i listen intently
hoping to discover
just one more wave

I'm stranded
straddled along
the sandy shore

sunset streaks across the sky
shades of blue
shades of red

drenched in feeling
looking out to what i can and cannot see
and whisper
what i should and shouldn't have said
