Bitch on the Bridge
I lose track
of all your memories
like shadow souls
they sail away
I journey back
to where we started
on that fateful
summer's day
Up on the bridge
across the river
I held you close
and kissed your lips
And as we gazed
into the sunset
you jumped on to
a passing ship
How I wish
that I'd gone with you
holding hands
to land on deck
But when a sailor
broke your fall
you smiled
and grabbed him
round the neck
Now every day
I scan horizons
then stand and wonder
what I did wrong
As years roll by
I cant help thinking
your little trip around the bay
shouldn't ever
take this long
of all your memories
like shadow souls
they sail away
I journey back
to where we started
on that fateful
summer's day
Up on the bridge
across the river
I held you close
and kissed your lips
And as we gazed
into the sunset
you jumped on to
a passing ship
How I wish
that I'd gone with you
holding hands
to land on deck
But when a sailor
broke your fall
you smiled
and grabbed him
round the neck
Now every day
I scan horizons
then stand and wonder
what I did wrong
As years roll by
I cant help thinking
your little trip around the bay
shouldn't ever
take this long
