The Holy Grail
We are at cross purposes now, it seems,
We great and sapient apes...not so great,
When generating only tears and screams
To be recycled into still more hate.
We, instead, might cultivate those dreams
Wherein we find a heavenly trait
That undermines all villainous schemes
And increases the common estate.
But no, we must split philosophical hairs,
And, terrified of losing those debates
On behalf of our Lords and heirs,
We fail to sweetly affect our fates.
Therefore, of these words, I beg you partake,
That we may ALL sip the wine of daybreak!
We great and sapient apes...not so great,
When generating only tears and screams
To be recycled into still more hate.
We, instead, might cultivate those dreams
Wherein we find a heavenly trait
That undermines all villainous schemes
And increases the common estate.
But no, we must split philosophical hairs,
And, terrified of losing those debates
On behalf of our Lords and heirs,
We fail to sweetly affect our fates.
Therefore, of these words, I beg you partake,
That we may ALL sip the wine of daybreak!
