Poetry's My M.O.
Every moment is the opportunity for poems,
I've even begun to think in poems,
Or like the narrator of a classic or esoteric novel,
Perhaps a little formal,
Waxing poetic, about mundane tasks,
Or my emotions, or internal questions no one else around me asks,
Questions from others, I'm not hearing,
But rather thinking,
About life's mysteries, my soul is experiencing,
I love drawing, painting, beading, crocheting,
But where I get out my thoughts and feelings best, is writing.
If I get the courage to talk to you,
And one day, after getting to know you,
If I tell you how I feel,
Both tongue-tied, and tranquil,
Nervous, and yet elated,
Quite complicated,
No surprise to me,
It will probably be in the form of poetry.
